PA Police Director-General mentions Dalal Mughrabi, who led murder of 37, as one of the “fighting women” and proof Palestinian women’s role has “not been marginal”

PA Police Director-General Hazem Atallah: “(Atallah is asked about the place of women in the PA police –Ed.) First of all, when we speak about women we speak about women as mothers, sisters, and wives. Afterwards we speak about fighting women, we speak about Dalal Mughrabi (i.e., terrorist who led murder of 37, 12 of them children) and Dalal Mughrabi’s comrades. Women in Palestinian history have not been marginal. They are not a new or trivial thing, but rather the opposite. Women have had a presence on the path of Palestinian national activity since the first moments.”

Dalal Mughrabi led the most lethal terror attack in Israel’s history, known as the Coastal Road massacre, in 1978, when she and other Fatah terrorists hijacked a bus on Israel's Coastal Highway, murdering 37 civilians, 12 of them children, and wounding over 70.
