PA Justice Minister sends "a blessing of honor and admiration to our righteous Martyrs"

Headline: “The [PA] government, the factions, and [official] figures bless the victory of the residents of Jerusalem in the battle of the Al-Aqsa Mosque gates”
“The [PA] government, the [Palestinian] National and Islamic Forces, official figures, and citizens saluted the victory of our people in the battle of the Al-Aqsa Mosque gates (see note below –Ed.)... [PA] Minister of Justice Ali Abu Diyak congratulated [the people] over this victory and sent a blessing of honor and appreciation admiration to our righteous Martyrs (Shahids), and to the Martyrs of Jerusalem and the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, who responded to the call of the homeland and the sacred duty, and fell victim to the crimes that the Israeli occupation forces carried out in their desperate and miserable attempt to break the resolve of our people that refuses to break and is deserving of freedom and victory.”

The mention of “the battle of the Al-Aqsa Mosque gates” refers to violence and riots in response to Israeli security measures at the Temple Mount, including metal detectors at the entrances, following an attack there on July 14, 2017, in which 2 Israeli border police officers were murdered by 3 Israeli Arab terrorists. On July 24, 2017, Israel decided to remove the metal detectors and security cameras it had placed at the site. The PA continued to demand that all measures including inspections at the entrances be removed, and Palestinians continued  to riot. On July 27, 2017, PA religious leaders declared that all Israeli measures had been removed.
