Young Palestinian voter: Our slogan is “the rifle and the olive branch”

PA TV program Al-Balad Young People, episode about elections for the Palestinian Youth Parliament. This clip demonstrates that Palestinian youth have absorbed the PA message that both violence and diplomacy should be used at different times to achieve Palestinian goals:
Young woman: “I represent the Land of the Homeland [party] list. Why the ‘Homeland?’ Because we believe that the homeland is from the [Jordan] river to the [Mediterranean] sea, and we want to hold on to our homeland, and [we] know that holding on to the homeland is the basis for everything in life. Of course our slogan is ‘the rifle and the olive branch’ because we believe that there will never be peace with the Jews, and [we believe] that we will continue to hold on to our resistance and we will not fix our internal affairs with [anything] but our resistance.” […]
Candidate on the Land of the Homeland [party] list: “Our most important goals can be understood from the list’s name and from the list’s slogan. Our slogan is ‘the rifle on the river side and the olive branch on the sea side.’ We will begin the struggle from the [Jordan] river to the [Mediterranean] sea and will not make do with anything but all the land of the homeland.”
