Seventh Fatah Conference member Majed Al-Helo: “(Speaks at length about PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas’ speech at the Seventh Fatah Conference, and praises Abbas’ maneuvering against pressures from the West –Ed.) In addition to this whole framework (i.e., outlined in Abbas’ speech) - the political and administrative dispute, and the announcement on the existence of the occupation and that we are the only occupied state – during the last stage [of his speech] he (i.e., Abbas) particularly presented the case of the [PA] aid in putting out [the fire] on Mount Carmel - the Palestinian land that is in the Interior (i.e., Palestinian term for Israel) and the Palestinian tree that is in the Interior – it is not a Jewish tree, and not Jewish land.”
