PLO: Stone throwing is “legitimate resistance” and “self-defence”

Headline: “The [Palestinian] National Council condemned the [Israeli] law increasing the punishment against stone-throwers”
“The Palestinian National Council (i.e., the legislative body of the PLO) stated that the fact the Israeli Parliament (Knesset) approved a law that increases the sentences against those who resist the occupation forces and confront them with stones, especially in occupied Jerusalem, is an escalation of aggression, extremism, arrogance, crimes, and other punishments imposed on our people because of their legitimate resistance to the occupation and their self-defense against the occupier.”

Note: Israeli Justice Minister (from May 2015) Ayelet Shaked is promoting legislation aimed at increasing the punishment to stone-throwers, in order to provide legal tools to handle situations the current legislation does not cover.
