Official PA daily: Israel perpetrates "dozens of massacres and Holocausts against our people"

“The Palestinian people, including all its factions, are taking a stand against the escalating Zionist aggression, which began when the Israeli regime took advantage of the disappearance and later killing of the three settlers (i.e., kidnapping and murder of three Israeli teens). The Israeli government initiated a campaign of racist incitement and sedition…
This campaign… which accompanied [Israel’s] military aggression throughout the West Bank (which they call, in a falsification of history, ‘Judea and Samaria,’ neither of which ever existed here) [parenthesis in source], has borne its fruit among the extremist Israeli right, which has taken the law into its hands under the protection of the Israeli soldiers, as part of what it calls revenge for the deaths of the three settlers…
But the fruits of the Zionist incitement may have gone beyond Netanyahu’s exact intentions, following the barbaric murder and burning of the Martyr (Shahid) Muhammad Abu Khdeir (i.e., the kidnapping, murder and burning alive of Palestinian boy presumably by Israeli extremists in revenge for the killing of the three kidnapped Israelis) – an affair that overshadowed Netanyahu’s objectives…
The barbaric Martyrdom (Shahada) of the youth Muhammad Abu Khdeir forcefully evoked the meanings of oppression linked to the ‘burning’, which is annually celebrated (the word in Arabic, meaning "celebrate, praise") by the Israelis in what they call ‘Holocaust’ [Remembrance Day], which was perpetrated against the Jews of Europe… by the greatest Nazi, and here they are, performing the same act, with dozens of massacres and Holocausts against our people in Palestine, from the Nakba (i.e., ‘the catastrophe,’ Palestinian term for the establishment of the State of Israel) till today. In this way, the incitement campaign bounces back on Netanyahu and strikes him, and the suffering of the Palestinian people is once more revealed, as opposed to the whining of Netanyahu and those he considers his Jewish ‘nation,’ which was invented just a hundred years ago.
The Martyrdom of the beautiful boy has burned away the ‘innocent,’ gentle and humane image which Netanyahu has tried to assume…
The ‘innocent’ Netanyahu is the one sending his ‘innocent’ warplanes to kill the Palestinian ‘monsters’ – women and children – in accordance with what [former Israeli Prime Minister Ariel] Sharon once said and carried out personally: ‘I swear I will burn every Palestinian child that is born in this region. The Palestinian woman and the Palestinian child are more dangerous than the man, because the presence of the Palestinian child means that generations will continue to exist.’”
Note: On June 12, 2014, Israeli teens Eyal Yifrach, Gilad Shaar and Naftali Frenkel were kidnapped while hitchhiking in the West Bank. Israel responded to the kidnapping by conducting house-to-house searches in Hebron and arresting hundreds of Hamas members. The boys' bodies were found by Israeli security forces near Hebron on June 30, 2014. They appeared to have been shot to death soon after the abduction. Two days later, Palestinian teen Muhammad Abu Khdeir was kidnapped and murdered in Jerusalem in a revenge attack by Israeli extremists. Following this murder, Palestinians took to the streets of eastern Jerusalem in violent and continuous protests. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other Israeli ministers immediately condemned the revenge killing in the strongest terms. Israeli police arrested six Israeli suspects on July 6th; under interrogation, three of the suspects confessed to murdering Khdeir.
Subsequently, Hamas began firing hundreds of rockets at Israel. Israel responded with Operation Protective Edge, which aimed at destroying Hamas' terror infrastructure and ability to launch rockets at Israel. This article was published during the 2014 Gaza conflict.
