French municipality praised for awarding terrorist prisoner honorary French citizenship

Fares: “When a municipality in a progressive and large country with a long history adopts or awards honorary citizenship to a Palestinian fighter, brother Majdi Al-Rimawi, it testifies to the truth of the Palestinian struggle and to the fact that they (i.e., France) support the Palestinian people’s right to freedom and independence. That’s why this provokes Israel.”
Member of the Municipal Council in the Bezons Municipality in France, Khaled Al-Fara: “The municipality decided to give the honorary award as a symbol for the political prisoners in the Israeli prison, in particular those on hunger strike.”
Fares: “France was a pioneer and in the past a number of municipalities have awarded commander Marwan Barghouti honorary citizenship.”
Note: Majdi Al-Rimawi - serving a life sentence plus 80 years for his participation in the planning and carrying out of the murder of Israeli Minister of Tourism Rehavam Ze'evi in 2001.
Marwan Barghouti - serving five life sentences for orchestrating terror attacks against Israeli civilians. When arrested in 2002, he headed the Tanzim (Fatah terror faction). After he was convicted and imprisoned, he was re-elected member of the Palestinian Authority parliament.
