Palestinian who stabbed Israeli soldier “executed” and died “as a Martyr”

“The young [Palestinian] Iyad Khalil Al-Awawdeh from the village of Al-Mawreq in the Doura district died as a Martyr (Shahid) yesterday [Oct. 16, 2015], after he was shot after stabbing one of the occupation soldiers who were participating in the oppression of demonstrators in the Ras Al-Jorah area of Hebron. Israeli army spokesman Aryeh Schlicker said: ‘The Palestinian presented himself as a newspaper photographer, which enabled him to get close to the soldiers.’ Pictures posted on Facebook pages and Twitter show the Martyr spread on the floor, and wearing a yellow vest with ‘press’ written on it. Regarding this, the Palestinian journalist union said that the person who carried out the stabbing operation (i.e., terrorist attack) in Hebron, who died from the occupation’s gunfire, did not work for any Palestinian, Arab or foreign media, and is not registered in the journalist union’s records.”
