PA TV interviews family of terrorist to commemorate the terrorist, referred to as “a symbol”
Fatah-run Awdah TV program Heroes of the Battle about Raed Mustafa Suleiman, hosts his mother and brothers
Awdah TV reporter: “Martyr (Shahid) Raed Mustafa Suleiman is the hero of the Al-Mazra’a operation (i.e., terror attack) in Beit Shean, a resident of the village of Beit Safafa in Jerusalem... He and his friends decided to leave the life of ease and join the Palestinian revolution. They infiltrated into Damascus through Iraq. His friends were supposed to carry out a military operation (i.e., attack) in the occupied land. Martyr Raed was not part of this group. He insistently demanded to join, but at the beginning he was refused as he didn’t have enough experience to carry out this operation. He declared a hunger strike until they agreed to his participation in the Al-Mazra’a operation in April 1979, when the members of the group took over an Israeli army base and raised the Palestinian flag over [it]…”
Awdah TV host: “After he [Suleiman] was buried in the land [Palestine], do you know where [he was buried]?”
Raed Mustafa Suleiman’s sister: “In Beit Shean.”
Raed Mustafa Suleiman’s brother: “In the numbered cemeteries (i.e., Israeli cemeteries for terrorists and enemy soldiers)...”
Awdah TV Host: “Anyway, he is buried in the land.”
Raed Mustafa Suleiman’s mother: “Yes. In Palestine, in Beit Shean…”
Raed Mustafa Suleiman’s brother: “I am trying to bring him to me, to Beit Safafa, so he’ll be in his land, in his country.”

Raed Mustafa Suleiman’s sister: “The whole land is his homeland, and the whole land is Palestine.”

Raed Mustafa Suleiman’s sister: “We do not forget him. Mother does not forget him. I, his sister, do not forget him. His brother does not forget him. We as a family do not forget him, because first of all, he is my brother. Aside from that, he made us proud, he did something for us that will remain in our hearts, something that will accompany us, and we won’t forget him.”

Raed Mustafa Suleiman – a Fatah member and part of a terrorist cell which crossed into Israel from Jordan in 1979, infiltrated an army base, and flew the Palestinian flag over it. They then encountered Israeli soldiers and were killed.
The Cemeteries for Enemy Casualties are two burial sites maintained by the Israeli army for burying the bodies of enemy soldiers as well as terrorists. They are fenced and well-marked. Graves have markers instead of gravestones. Burial is temporary, on the assumption that the bodies will eventually be returned to their countries of origin. No ceremony is held. The bodies are buried in numbered caskets, after their identities have been documented.
