“The Palestinian National Liberation Movement Fatah’s Salfit branch, Al-Dik regional sub-branch, held a memorial ceremony yesterday (Monday) [Feb. 9, 2016]… in the village of Al-Dik to mark 40 days to the death of Martyr (Shahid) Muhammad Zahran, who died as a Martyr on Dec. 24, 2015, from the Israeli occupation’s gunfire. At the beginning of the ceremony, Secretary of Fatah’s regional sub-branch of Al-Dik, Amjad Al-Dik, blessed the attendees. He emphasized that the Fatah movement will always be the most faithful [one] to the sacrifices of our Martyrs, who are more honorable than all of us, the homeland’s pillars and candles that will light the path to victory for us. He stated: ‘If the occupation demolishes homes, we will [re]build them. We remain here, standing firm like the olive tree. We will not leave. If you uproot our tree, we will [re]plant it and water it with our blood, for this is the way of struggle and free men.’ Secretary of Fatah's Salfit branch Abd Al-Sattar Awwad said that the heroes of Palestine, its young, and its daughters compete against each other for Shahada (Martyrdom) for justice and for Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque. He emphasized that this heroic act (probably reference to the terror attack Zahran carried out. –Ed.) is a message to the occupation and an unambiguous option: The occupation must leave this land and give the Palestinian people the right to live and build its state and its future… Salfit district Governor Ibrahim Al-Balawi and heads of the security establishment took part in the ceremony.”
