“Thousands from the Ramallah and El-Bireh district accompanied the body of Martyr Abd Al-Rahman Barghouti to burial yesterday [Dec. 5, 2015] in the cemetery of the village where he was born, Abud, west of Ramallah, after a military procession for the body that was held in the city. Governor of Ramallah and El-Bireh district Dr. Laila Ghannam participated in the funeral of the Martyr next to the government health facility ‘Palestine’ in Ramallah, and laid a wreath of flowers. Likewise, she condemned the occupation’s crimes, firstly the cold-blooded killing operations it carries out against innocents, while the world is silent. The body, wrapped in a Palestinian flag, was carried on the shoulders of national security officers, while a group of the guards saluted his soul before the body was taken in an impressive procession to his birthplace. A number of top officials and security leaders, representatives of the [national] forces, and Fatah people who expressed sorrow at the death of the Martyr participated in the funeral. Barghouti died as a Martyr by fire from the Israeli occupation army on Friday [Dec. 4, 2015] afternoon on the village of Abud’s land, [they] claimed that he stabbed a soldier, while witnesses verified that it was an execution for no reason.”
