Fatah spokesman: US VP Pence is “unwanted” for being “racist and extremist,” and for considering Jerusalem to be “the historical and religious capital of the Jewish people”

Headline: “Fatah: Pence is unwanted; we demand that the Arabs not welcome him”
“Fatah Movement Spokesman and [Fatah] Revolutionary Council member Osama Al-Qawasmi said on behalf of Fatah and the Palestinian people that US Vice President Mike Pence’s visit is unwanted in the region.
Al-Qawasmi added in a statement to [the independent Palestinian news agency] Ma’an that Pence has made racist and extremist statements against the Palestinian people, and that he considered Jerusalem the historical and religious capital of the Jewish people, amid a clear violation of all the international conventions and agreements… [Al-Qawasmi] emphasized that there is incessant aggression from US President [Donald Trump] and his vice president against the Palestinian refugees, which was expressed in the latest decisions about cutting the aid to UNRWA (UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East) and stopping all of the aid presented to the members of our people… He also called on all of the Arab brothers not to welcome [Pence].”
