Op-ed in official PA daily defends Abbas’ statement that the Jews brought the Holocaust on themselves by engaging in usury, calls Netanyahu anti-Semitic

Excerpt of op-ed by Omar Hilmi Al-Ghoul, regular columnist for the official PA daily

Headline: "The Zionists hate history"

"It is rare to meet a Zionist Jew who accepts history and its facts as they are. When meeting Jews from the many Zionist groups and streams, when they can't find anything to say regarding the Palestinian historical narrative, which adheres to the facts and proofs in the Arab Palestinian land, and when they collide with the lies of the Zionist narrative, they always demand of you 'not to talk about history.' They unhesitatingly say: ‘If we continue to talk about history we will not reach an agreement. Let us begin from the point we are at currently.' This means fleeing from the facts…
The Zionist Israelis know that the Arab Palestinians – whether officials or ordinary citizens – do not return to history in order to turn their back on peace, but rather to convince the Israelis how much they have been misled by the Zionist movement and the colonialist West that stands behind it…
There is a deep connection between what is stated above and the statement that [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu's office published yesterday [May 2, 2018]…
In the brazen statement, whose goal is to incite against [PA] President Mahmoud Abbas by providing an analysis of his speech before the [Palestinian] National Council (i.e., the PLO legislative body) on Monday [April 30, 2018], it was said: 'Apparently a Holocaust denier remains a Holocaust denier.' In his racist statement, Netanyahu claimed that President Abbas is 'again reciting the most despicable anti-Semitic slogans'…
Netanyahu and his fellow anti-Semitic Khazar Zionists know that President Mahmoud Abbas was referring to the cooperation between Hitler's Nazi regime and the Zionist movement in the colonization of historical Palestine in 1933. However, he did not deny the Holocaust. He said that the massacres and conflicts that erupted every 10 to 15 years between the Europeans and the Khazar Jews arose from their nature as usurers and from their exploitation of the peoples of Europe for their personal goals…
The president did not deny the Holocaust, but rather diagnosed the causes and background of the Holocaust. He also did not turn his back on peace, but rather declared his adherence to a political arrangement, as he understands that the Jews have been misled – that the Zionist movement forced them to immigrate to Palestine – [and] do not bear the main responsibility; those who are fully responsible are those that stood behind the Zionist colonialist enterprise…
Israeli journalist Amira Hass is connected to the same abominable and despicable subject. In her article in [Israeli daily] Haaretz she tried to top the Zionist rightwing leaders in her incitement against President Mahmoud Abbas – especially considering the fact that she claims to be a 'woman of the left.' She has no connection to the left and peace. Her lies regarding her solidarity with the members of the Palestinian people are a means to insert her positions or pass messages from the Israeli security forces to the Palestinian street."

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's actual statement on May 2, 2018, regarding PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas’ anti-Semitic speech to the Palestinian National Council on April 30, 2018: "Mahmoud Abbas gave another anti-Semitic speech. With utmost ignorance and insolence he claimed that the Jews of Europe were persecuted and murdered not because they were Jews, but because they engaged in usury. Mahmoud Abbas again recites the most despicable anti-Semitic slogans. Apparently a Holocaust denier remains a Holocaust denier. I call on the international community to condemn Mahmoud Abbas' grave antisemitism, whose time has come to pass from the world."
