‎ “Participants in a political-cultural ‎convention on the subject of the 66th ‎anniversary of the Nakba (i.e., ‘the ‎catastrophe,’ Palestinian term for the ‎establishment of the State of Israel), ‎organized by the [Palestinian Popular] ‎Struggle Front in Tulkarem two days ago, ‎emphasized the need to adhere to the ‎national goals and to protect the land from ‎the settlement demon… Palestinian ‎National Council (the legislative body of ‎the PLO) member and Director-General of ‎the Palestinian Ministry of Culture, poet ‎Abd Al-Nasser Saleh said: ‘Nakba Day ‎was and remains a most painful and ‎difficult anniversary, in every moral and ‎legal sense, because in the end it is the ‎forced replacement of a people who are ‎the owners of the land with a group of ‎occupiers who were gathered on the land ‎of Palestine.’ He emphasized that this ‎scheme was revealed thanks to the power ‎and will of the Palestinian people, its ‎resolve and struggle.”‎
