Fatah Central Committee: Hamas militias "committed the most heinous violations ‎and crimes" against Fatah members in Gaza

‎“In a special statement last night [Aug. 30, ‎‎2014], the Fatah Central Committee ‎conveyed a message of appreciation and ‎pride to the movement’s leaders, activists, ‎fighters and supporters in the Gaza Strip, ‎for their resolve and for working against ‎the barbaric Israeli aggression, which ‎lasted 51 days. In addition, [the ‎Committee] expressed its appreciation for ‎their having persevered in view of the ‎actions perpetrated against them by the ‎armed Hamas militias, which committed ‎the most heinous violations and crimes ‎against them, while the Israeli war ‎machine was indiscriminately killing our ‎people in the Gaza Strip.‎
The Central Committee strongly ‎condemned the Hamas militias, which, ‎during the aggression shot dozens of ‎Fatah members and activists in the legs ‎and [elsewhere] in their bodies, beat them ‎violently, broke [their bones] – as a result ‎of which several of them were ‎hospitalized in Ramallah, Hebron and ‎Nablus – and placed over 300 Fatah ‎activists and members under house arrest, ‎even though Hamas was well aware of ‎the resulting danger posed to their lives ‎and the lives of their families, in view of ‎the Israeli aggression and bombing.‎
In addition, the Central Committee ‎strongly condemned [the fact that] Hamas ‎insisted on keeping the Fatah activists ‎and fighters as political prisoners in its ‎jails, despite the evacuation of those jails, ‎which are direct targets for the Israeli ‎bombings.”‎
