PLO official: Israel seeks to build the "alleged Temple" on the ruins of Al-Aqsa

“The brutal attack our people is being subjected to in the [West] Bank and the [Gaza] Strip, and especially in Jerusalem, the capital of our hearts and souls, has crossed all lines and [is beyond] all belief. Here is the Zionist occupier, exploiting the Arab countries’ preoccupation with their internal affairs in order to whet its knife and carve up the homeland… It’s sneaking under our imprisoned Al-Aqsa [Mosque], in preparation for destroying it and building the alleged Temple on its ruins. It sends its settlers and soldiers to defile its plazas. This has been the Zionists’ custom since they first set foot on the pure land of Palestine, from the [period of the] British Mandate, until today.”
