Protestors shout chants calling for blood and Martyrdom to “redeem” Al-Aqsa Mosque

“The national and Islamic factions, forces and activists in the Hebron district took part in [several] well-attended marches yesterday, Friday [Nov. 8, 2014] in support of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque. One of the marches, organized by Fatah, left the Al-Hussein mosque after the Friday prayers… under the heading ‘For you, Al-Aqsa.’ Other marches were held in various areas of the district, during which protesters chanted angry slogans against the occupation and calls for support of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, including: ‘Al-Aqsa’s gate is made of iron, only the Martyr’s (Shahid’s) blood will open it,’ and ‘With spirit, with blood, we will redeem you, Al-Aqsa.’ They [the marches] ended with confrontations with the occupation forces… In a speech held during the march organized by [Fatah] in the city, Fatah Secretary in Hebron Imad Kharwat emphasized the importance of uniting in one rank to defend Al-Aqsa from the occupation’s attacks and the settlers’ constantly recurring invasions of its courtyards. Kharwat said: ‘All the Palestinian factions and forces throughout the homeland and the diaspora must awaken to defend Al-Aqsa, which is more exalted than any of these, until the words of our late leader Yasser Arafat are realized: A boy from among our boys and a girl from among our girls will raise the Palestinian flag over the minarets and church towers of Jerusalem.’ Fatah Central Committee member Sultan Abu Al-Einein said: ‘More mass popular activity is required in support of Al-Aqsa, for this mosque is the symbol of unity. It unites and does not divide, and it represents the nation’s honor. Let us fight for it to defend it and liberate it from the occupation’s filth.’”
