“Yesterday morning [Oct. 9, 2016] young Musbah Abu Sbeih, 39, died as a Martyr (Shahid) during an armed clash with [Israeli] security forces after a chase near [the neighborhood of] Sheikh Jarrah in occupied Jerusalem, while 2 Israelis were killed (i.e., murdered by Abu Sbeih), one of them a member of the Special Patrol Unit of the occupation’s police, and seven (sic., five) others were wounded to varying degrees…
The Martyr’s daughter Iman, 17, said in an exclusive interview with Al-Hayat Al-Jadida that her father dedicated his life to the Al-Aqsa Mosque and its defense, and he did not calm down when he heard about the attacks and provocations of the settlers and occupation forces against the Mosque and those carrying out Ribat (i.e., religious conflict/war over land claimed to be Islamic) in it, and the occupation authorities punished him several times by distancing [him] (i.e., from the Temple Mount), arresting [him], and they even forbade him from entering Jerusalem where he was born.
Iman added: ‘Musbah died while carrying in his heart the concern for the Al-Aqsa Mosque. In addition, recently he suffered from an escalation of the Israeli attack against him (i.e., the Israeli authorities detained and questioned him several times), whose goal was to break his resolve and weaken his willpower , but he loved the Al-Aqsa Mosque and did not agree to be any other way, and he also sacrificed his soul for it (i.e., the Al-Aqsa Mosque).’”
Musbah Abu Sbeih – 39-year-old Palestinian terrorist who murdered 2 Israelis and wounded 5 others in 3 drive-by shooting attacks in Jerusalem on Oct. 9, 2016. Abu Sbeih, who held Israeli residency status, began his shooting spree at the Ammunition Hill light rail stop and continued to the Shimon Hatzadik neighborhood. He was killed in an exchange of fire with Israeli border police officers during the attack. On the morning of the attack, Abu Sbeih was due to turn himself in to begin a 4 month jail sentence, after being convicted in January 2015 on numerous counts of inciting to terror and supporting a terror organization. On his Facebook page, Abu Sbeih praised terror groups including Hamas as well as terrorists who carried out attacks and actively called for attacks against Israelis. In July 2016, Abu Sbeih was given a distancing order from the Temple Mount that was to be in effect until the end of October 2016.
The PA and its leaders consider all of the Temple Mount an integral part of the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Therefore they view any presence of Jews on the mount as an “attack.” It should be noted that Jews who visit the Temple Mount only enter some sections of the open areas, and do not enter the Al-Aqsa Mosque or the Dome of the Rock.
