PA Mufti: Israel endangers Al-Aqsa Mosque, which belongs to Muslims alone, and “Judaizes” Jerusalem and destroys Islamic antiquities

“[PA] Grand Mufti of Jerusalem and the Palestinian Territories and preacher at the Al-Aqsa Mosque Sheikh Muhammad Hussein condemned the fact that the occupation authorities have installed security cameras in the Bab Al-Ghawanmeh area in the northwest corner of the Al-Aqsa Mosque plaza.
The Grand Mufti stated in a press release that… the occupation authorities and settlers do not stop at excavating tunnels, which at the moment pose a real danger to the Al-Aqsa Mosque, but are also acting to place security cameras [in it] in order to document what happens there. Likewise, he emphasized that the Al-Aqsa Mosque belongs only to the Muslims and it is forbidden for non-Muslims to interfere in its matters. The Mufti called on the local and international bodies and organizations to act to rein in the occupation authorities, who are changing the character of the holy city, the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and the Islamic antiquities, Judaizing and destroying them, and called to the leaders and countries of the Islamic world to fulfill their responsibility and defend the Al-Aqsa Mosque.”
