PLO prisoners’ commission director: Israel spreads diseases among Palestinian prisoners

Headline: “Karake: The deliberate death (sic) of prisoners [taking place] in the occupation’s prisons must be stopped”
“Director of [PLO] Commission of Prisoners and Released Prisoners’ Affairs Issa Karake held the occupation state responsible for the death as a Martyr (Shahid) of prisoner Yasser Hamdouni, and considered him to be one of the victims of their deliberate policy of medical negligence. Likewise, he demanded the opening of an international investigation regarding the occupation’s violations and crimes against the prisoners in the prisons in order to stop the deliberate death (sic) [of prisoners] in the occupation state’s prisons.
Karake said yesterday [Sept. 26, 2016] in a radio interview: ‘The occupation’s prisons have turned into a death site after diseases were spread among the prisoners, and they were not given the appropriate medical examinations.’ He noted that the prisoners are suffering from serious diseases, and said that what happened to prisoner Hamdouni is liable to happen to other prisoners as well.”

Yasser Dhiab Hamdouni – was serving a life sentence for participating in the murder of Israeli citizen Avner Maimon in the Palestinian town of Ya'abad in the West Bank (June, 12, 2003). Hamdouni, a member of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades (Fatah’s military wing), died on Sept. 25, 2016, after collapsing while exercising in the Israeli Rimon Prison yard.
