PA ministers eulogize murderer and blame his death on Israel's "policy of medical negligence" towards prisoners

“[PA] Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah paid a condolence visit yesterday [Sept. 29, 2016] in the village of Ya’abad in the Jenin district, to [the family of] Martyr (Shahid) prisoner Yasser Hamdouni, who died as a Martyr in the Rimon Prison from a stroke due to the intentional medical negligence of the occupation’s Prison Service. (sic., Hamdouni died while exercising.)
The prime minister conveyed the condolences of [PA] President Mahmoud Abbas to the family and relatives of Martyr Hamdouni, and emphasized the continuation of the leadership and government’s efforts to contact all of the international institutions and bodies in order to press Israel to stop its violations against the prisoners, and particularly the policy of medical negligence, and to release them, especially the sick prisoners, the children, and the women.
The prime minister announced his full support for the family of Martyr Hamdouni, and wished that Almighty Allah will let him dwell in Paradise and bring to his family and relatives patience and solace.
Minister of Local Authority Hussein Al-A'araj, Minister of Justice Ali Abu Diyak, and Advisor to the Prime Minister Jawad Naji accompanied the prime minister [Hamdallah], along with a number of prominent official and national figures.
The minister of justice gave a speech in the name of the president, prime minister, and government, in which he eulogized the Martyr by saying: ‘We convey to our people, to our nation, and to the relatives of the Martyr our sincerest condolences, and participate in the pain of separation upon the parting of this brother fighter, prisoner Martyr Yasser Hamdouni, who spent his life defending the homeland, and who was a strong presence in the arena of the national struggle for decades and since his arrest on July 17, 2003. Despite the unjust life sentence he was sentenced to by the occupation’s courts, he remained straight as a tree, firm as a mountain, rooted in the land like a rock, and adhered to the sunrise, the dawn, the flame of hope, and the moment of feeling freedom and victory.’
He added: ‘This hero… did not retreat for a moment from his eternal love for the land, from his giving to the homeland, and from his eternal belonging to Palestine, and joined the convoy of prisoner Martyrs who have died and whose honor lives on, who ascended to Heaven as heroes, and who left to their people a heritage of struggle and a national epic that fills the history with honor and pride.’…
Likewise, he said: ‘The Martyr prisoner Yasser Hamdouni will remain testimony to the ongoing crime being perpetrated by the occupation against our heroic prisoners, the crime of slow execution, intentional medical negligence, and inhuman treatment, and clear proof of Israel’s violations of the international law, conventions, and agreements, and the crimes against humanity for which it must be held accountable under international law and before the International Criminal Court.’”
Yasser Dhiab Hamdouni – was serving a life sentence for participating in the murder of Israeli citizen Avner Maimon in the Palestinian town of Ya'abad in the West Bank (June, 12, 2003). Hamdouni, a member of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades (Fatah’s military wing), died on Sept. 25, 2016, after collapsing while exercising in the Israeli Rimon Prison yard.
