PLO official accuses Israel of trying to kill hunger-striking prisoners

Headline: "Karake: The next few hours are critical if [prisoners] Abu Fara and Shadid continue to refrain from drinking water"
"Director of [PLO] Commission of Prisoners’ Affairs Issa Karake said that the next few hours will be critical and decisive if prisoners Ahmed Abu Fara and Anas Shadid (i.e., prisoners held in administrative detention) continue to refrain from drinking water. He added that yesterday [Dec. 17, 2016] Palestinian Doctor Muhammad Jadallah examined the two prisoners - who have been hunger-striking for 85 days and have not been drinking for four days – at the Assaf HaRofeh Hospital. In a phone conversation with [the official PA news agency] WAFA, he noted that Dr. Jadallah said that the lower extremities of the two of them have lost their vitality, and that not passing urine for several days indicates kidney failure, which is liable to be irreversible…
He [Karake] noted that the occupation is trying to kill the two prisoners through procrastination, stubbornness, and by rejecting their demands."

Note: The deputy director of the Assaf HaRofeh Hospital sent a letter to the court, including pictures, stating that Abu Shara and Fadid are actually secretly eating and drinking.
