PA Grand Mufti: "Israeli occupation forces are intentionally spilling the blood of Palestinians"

“[PA] Grand Mufti of Jerusalem and the Palestinian Territories and preacher at the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque Sheikh Muhammad Hussein said that the fact that the Israeli occupation forces are intentionally spilling the blood of Palestinians, and of youth in particular, constitutes arrogance and violation of all international law. Likewise, he said that the fact that the occupation authorities allow settlers to pray everywhere in Jerusalem constitutes an attack against the holy city.
Hussein, in an interview with Radio Mawtini today, Wednesday [Sept. 21, 2016], objected to them (i.e., Israelis) doing as they please with the land and the holy sites, and said: ‘The Israeli occupation violates all the international and humanitarian laws.’ Likewise, he expressed the objection of the Palestinians to the decision of the Israeli authorities to allow settlers to hold their prayers everywhere in the city of Jerusalem (apparently referring to a Jerusalem District Court decision on Sept. 13, 2016, allowing Jews to pray in the Muslim Quarter of the Old City of Jerusalem –Ed.).”
On Sept. 13, 2016, the Jerusalem District Court issued a decision that Jews are allowed to pray in the Muslim Quarter of the Old City of Jerusalem. This decision was issued as a result of an appeal by three girls who had been banned from entering the Muslim Quarter after police stopped them for praying there, and following the Israeli police’s recent policy of preventing Jews from praying in the Muslim Quarter.
