Abbas: "Sports should be separate from politics"

Abbas’ moderate statement to the Italian newspaper is contradicted by the PA's active policy of naming sports events after terrorists:
Headline: “President Abbas hopes that Barcelona will win the League”
“President Abbas said in an interview published in the well-known Italian sports paper, Gazzetta dello Sport… that sports should be separate from politics. He highlighted the value of sports as a medium with ‘positive messages’.”
