“On the refugee issue, the President [Mahmoud Abbas] said, according to [Israeli political party Meretz Chairwoman MP Zehava] Galon: ‘The claim that I intend and plan to return five million Palestinian refugees is a joke and nothing more, because I do not want to destroy Israel, and not a single refugee will return to Israel without the Israelis’ consent; but I [do] expect Israel to agree to set a quota for the number of refugees it can absorb each year.’”
