Ma’an TV newsreader: “The calls have strengthened in demand a new [prisoner] exchange deal that will bring an end to the suffering of the prisoners, who are confronting the occupation through their will and their empty stomachs (i.e., hunger strike). Visual, seen on screen throughout the report: “Prisoner exchange – calls for kidnapping [Israeli] soldiers and carrying out a new [prisoner] exchange deal”

First Deputy of the Hamas Parliament Ahmad Bahar: “We emphasize before all of our prisoners that we are with them and that the Palestinian people is with you, as you see. We call on and demand of all the armed Palestinian factions to act for your quick release, Allah willing. They [the Israelis] understand nothing but the language of force, this is known. It will never happen that they will release our prisoners but through negotiations or [anything] other than negotiations. Our prisoners will be released, Allah willing, through resistance, in ‘Loyalty to Free Men’ deal number two (i.e., “Loyalty to Free Men” is the Arab name for the Gilad Shalit prisoner exchange deal, 1,027 prisoners exchanged in 2011 for Gilad Shalit, an Israeli soldier held hostage by Hamas for 5 years - Ed.)."
