Headline
: "District Governor of Ramallah [and El-Bireh] and the [PLO] Commission of Prisoners' Affairs honored her – Um Nasser Abu Hmeid is prevented from visiting her sons in prison, on the pretext that they are not blood relatives"
"The Palestinian Khansa, Um Nasser Abu Hmeid, sorrowfully said that the occupation prevents her from visiting her sons, under the pretext that she and her sons are not blood relatives. She said that [International] Women's Day, Mother's Day, and Palestinian holidays are difficult for her and her family… due to the distance from her sons, who are sitting in the same fascist solitary confinement [cells] and serving life sentences… Um Nasser Abu Hmeid said these things during a visit by District Governor of Ramallah and El-Bireh Laila Ghannam and Director of [PLO] Commission of Prisoners’ Affairs Issa Karake to honor her."

Note: The report said nothing about why Israel claimed Abu Hmeid is not blood related and did not attempt to explain why this matter would have been raised.

Um Yousuf Abu Hmeid (Latifa Abu Hmeid) - The mother of four prisoners serving multiple life sentences. She is also called Khansa of Palestine (referring to a woman in the earliest period of Islam who sent her four sons to battle and rejoiced when they all died as Martyrs), honored in 2010 and in 2015 by the PA, and was chosen in 2011 to launch the PA’s statehood campaign with the UN.

Hmeid's sons are serving the following sentences for the following crimes:

Nasr Abu Hmeid was a member of Tanzim (Fatah terror faction) and is serving 5 life sentences for involvement in two terror attacks and arms dealing.

Muhammad Abu Hmeid is serving 2 life sentences and 30 years for involvement in terror attacks.
A fifth son, Abd Al-Mun'im Muhammad Yusuf Naji Abu Hmeid, the one referred to as "Martyr," was a member of the military wing of Hamas, Izz A-Din Al-Qassam Brigades, and planned and carried out the ambush and murder of an Israeli intelligence officer.
