PA supports terror in Jerusalem

Following murderous terrorist attacks and riots

in Jerusalem in October,

Abbas' advisor assured Palestinians

that Abbas and PA leaders support it:

"We kiss every forehead,

every hand and even every foot

that carries out Ribat (religious conflict/war

over land claimed to be Islamic)

at the Al-Aqsa Mosque and in Jerusalem...

We are behind them. The leadership is with them...

President [Abbas] greeted them, reinforced them

and requested more Ribat from them"

In an interview on Nov. 5, 2014, during the current period of Palestinian terror attacks and riots in Jerusalem, Palestinian Authority Supreme Shari'ah Judge and Abbas' advisor Mahmoud Al-Habbash assured Palestinians that PA Chairman Abbas and the PA leadership support the riots, unrest, and terror attacks that killed civilians.

"First of all, allow me to say that we kiss every forehead, every hand and even every foot that carries out Ribat (religious conflict/ war over land claimed to be Islamic) at the Al-Aqsa Mosque and in Jerusalem... We are behind them. The leadership is with them... We are with them in every movement, in every action and every deed, and we welcome what they are doing at the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque." He stressed that the PA knows Abbas "may have angered the Israelis... that the President is inciting the Palestinians from Jerusalem." He then confirmed this and said: "Yes, we are inciting the people in Jerusalem to [perform] Ribat."

Al-Habbash used the term Ribat to describe the recent actions by Palestinians in Jerusalem - a term that signifies religious conflict/war to defend or reconquer land defined as Islamic:

"A few days ago, President [Mahmoud Abbas] greeted them, reinforced them and requested more Ribat from them. This statement may have angered the Israelis and the occupation, that the President is inciting the Palestinians from Jerusalem to [perform] Ribat. Yes, we are inciting the people in Jerusalem to [perform] Ribat. Ribat means to protect and to hold on to your ground."

When Al-Habbash referred to the speech by Abbas that angered Israelis, he was referring to Abbas' call for Palestinians to carry out Ribat in Jerusalem. Abbas stated that "we must all carry out Ribat" to "prevent" Jews "in any way whatsoever" from entering the Al-Aqsa compound (on the Temple Mount), because "they have no right to enter it. They have no right to defile it." Official PA TV prepared a video of this part of the speech, which Abbas' advisor admits is incitement, and broadcast it 19 times in three days, as reported by Palestinian Media Watch. Al-Habbash reinforced Abbas' call for religious conflict/war only a few days after one terrorist killed two and wounded several in an attack by car and another terrorist attempted to murder Rabbi Yehuda Glick. On the same day, Nov. 5, 2014, another terrorist killed two and wounded several by running pedestrians over with his car. (See details below.)

The PA and Fatah have called for "sacrifices and blood" for Jerusalem and encouraged more terror attacks by car.

The following is information on the three terrorists who committed attacks before and after Al-Habbash's speech:

Mutaz Hijazi - Islamic Jihad member and released prisoner who attempted to assassinate Rabbi Yehuda Glick, a prominent activist working to assure rights for Jews to visit and pray on the Temple Mount, on Oct. 29, 2014. The assassination attempt took place following a conference on establishing times and places for Jews to pray on the Temple Mount. Glick was seriously wounded in the attack; Hijazi was killed soon afterwards when he opened fire on an Israeli police force that was attempting to arrest him.

Abd Al-Rahman Al-Shaloudi - On Oct. 22, 2014, Al-Shaloudi drove his car into a light-rail station in Jerusalem, killing three-month-old Israeli-American Haya Zissel-Brown and Karen Mosquera, 22, of Ecuador, and injuring 7 others. He was shot by police while attempting to flee the scene, and later died of his wounds.

Ibrahim Al-Akari - Hamas terrorist from East Jerusalem who deliberately ran over people at a light-rail station in Jerusalem on Nov. 5, 2014, killing Jidan Assad, 38, and Shalom Aharon Badani, 17, and injuring at least 13 others. Al-Akari was shot and killed by Israeli police officers who arrived on the scene.

The following is a longer excerpt of Al-Habbash statements:

"First of all, allow me to say that we kiss every forehead, every hand and even every foot that carries out Ribat (religious conflict/ war over land claimed to be Islamic) at the Al-Aqsa Mosque and in Jerusalem... I am not talking about strengthening their resolve; I am talking about participating in their resolve... We are behind them. The leadership is with them. A few days ago, President [Mahmoud Abbas] greeted them, reinforced them and requested more Ribat from them. This statement may have angered the Israelis and the occupation, that the President is inciting the Palestinians from Jerusalem to [perform] Ribat. Yes, we are inciting the people in Jerusalem to [perform] Ribat. Ribat means to protect and to hold on to your ground. We are with them in every movement, in every action and every deed, and we welcome what they are doing at the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque."
