Red Cross cuts funding for second monthly visit for families of prisoners; PA will cover cost instead

"Chairman of the [PA-funded] Palestinian Prisoners' Club Qadura Fares revealed that [PA] President Mahmoud Abbas signed a resolution to cover the costs of the second monthly visit of the prisoners’ families with their sons in the Israeli prisons.
Fares said today, Tuesday [Aug. 9, 2016] in an interview with Radio Mawtini: 'After the Red Cross reduced the visits and limited them to once a month, the president signed a resolution to cover the expenses of the second visit of the prisoners’ families with their sons in the occupation state's prisons.' Likewise, he spoke about a conditional agreement which the Palestinian government and the Red Cross will sign, according to which the government will cover all of the expenses of the second visit, on condition that the Red Cross will continue to obtain permits from the Israeli side."
