He emphasized that they will continue on this path of national struggle, speaking about fighter leader Marwan Barghouti’s entering his 15th year in the occupation’s prison. Likewise, he [Al-Aloul] said that his [Barghouti’s] arrest is a difficult event for the Palestinian people.
Al-Aloud said today, Thursday [April 14, 2016] in an interview with the Mawtini radio station: ‘The fighter Barghouti is a source of pride for the Palestinian people and one of the founders of the Palestinian path of struggle.’ He added that the principles of struggle became rooted in the consciousness of Palestinians, and said: ‘The occupation is deluding itself, thinking that it can extinguish the flame of struggle and popular resistance by arresting the leaders and fighters.’ Likewise, he stressed that Palestine’s young draw inspiration from the struggle experience and the ideas of their leaders, the Martyrs (Shahids) and prisoners in their confrontation with the Israeli occupation.”
