“Hundreds of students of the El-Bireh schools and institutions participated in the Baha [Alyan] (i.e., terrorist who murdered 3) chain of readers yesterday [April 24, 2016] to mark [Palestinian] Prisoner’s Day, which was organized by the El-Bireh municipal library in cooperation with the [PA Ministry of Education’s] Education Directorate, the Family Revival Society, and a number of the city’s institutions in the Al-Mughtaribin School courtyard. In his speech, attorney Muhammad Alyan, father of Martyr (Shahid) Baha Alyan, noted that his Martyr son loved to read and participated in the chain of readers that was held surrounding the walls of Jerusalem… The school’s director, Aziza Zalum, gave a speech in which she emphasized the importance of organizing such activities, which convey two principle messages - that the struggle is not in conflict with the love for seeking knowledge or with the love of life. In a speech he gave in the name of the municipality, El-Bireh municipality council member Hussein Al-Tawil praised the struggles and sacrifices of the prisoners, saluted the prisoners’ families, and noted that our people is renewing its vow to the prisoners.”
