PA Islamic-Christian Council: Jewish presence on Temple Mount for Passover is “desecration,” Israel plans to establish the “alleged Temple” on ruins of Al-Aqsa Mosque
Headline: “The [PA] Foreign Ministry and the Islamic-Christian Council [for Jerusalem and the Holy Places] condemned the [Israeli] settlement plans in Qalandiya”
“The [PA] Islamic-Christian Council for Jerusalem and the Holy Places… made a statement that the invasion of the Al-Aqsa Mosque plaza by a group of settlers and the deployment of special force members in its plaza and corridors, while distancing dozens of Palestinians from it in order to secure the settlers’ ceremonies at the beginning of the Jewish Passover holiday, constitute a severe desecration of the sanctity of the mosque and [all of] the Islamic and Christian holy sites, and an attempt to reinforce the Jewish presence at the Al-Aqsa Mosque, in preparation for the establishment of the alleged Temple on its ruins.”
The PA and its leaders consider all of the Temple Mount an integral part of the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Therefore they view any presence of Jews on the mount as an "invasion." It should be noted that Jews who visit the Temple Mount only enter some sections of the open areas, and do not enter the Al-Aqsa Mosque or the Dome of the Rock.
