Official PA TV reporter claims occupation began in 1948
Official PA TV News report on the opening of a Maronite church in Bethlehem
Official PA TV reporter: “As part of strengthening the Christian presence and reinforcing the principle of religious tolerance and pluralism on Palestinian land, the Saint Charbel Church, the first Maronite church in Bethlehem, was opened, and a festive mass was held in honor of the opening with the participation of 4,000 people. It is anticipated that the opening of the church will assist in increasing the number of tourists who come to Palestine, and strengthen the presence of the Maronite community that has been spread through the land occupied since 1948 (i.e., Israel).”
There are no Maronites in the PA areas and Gaza. The Maronites in Israel live in the Galilee and Haifa.
