Fatah: Jerusalem Light Festival is attempt to “Judaize” the Old City, depicting a “false story regarding the building of their alleged Temple on the ruins of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque”
Headline: “Fatah said that the festival is one of the biggest attempts to Judaize the holy city – lighting the walls of the Old City of Jerusalem with Talmudic (i.e., Jewish) insinuations for the Hebrew [Festival of] Lights”
“Fatah’s Jerusalem branch said that what is called the Judaizing Festival of Lights, which the occupation’s municipality, the Ministry of Tourism of the occupation’s government, and what is called the Jerusalem Development Authority are organizing for the eighth consecutive year, is one of the greatest initiatives of Judaization in Jerusalem. The [Fatah] branch emphasized that through the festival, they are trying to display a Jewish face for the city, and this is through forgery, falsification, and distortion of the facts, blurring the Arab culture, and hiding all the ancient evidence in the city, which proves its Arabness and sanctity. The branch noted yesterday [May 25, 2016] in a statement that every year the areas where ‘the lights’ are exhibited expand, and they are projected on the walls of the Old City and in its alleys, pictures that simulate its false story regarding the building of their alleged Temple on the ruins of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque. In the statement it was emphasized that Jerusalem will remain Arab, despite everyone, and that the [Palestinian] residents of Jerusalem will come out against any attempts to Judaize it.”
