Although the number of Palestinian terror attacks has lessened, Fatah leaders continue to praise the attacks of the terror wave. Recently, Fatah Central Committee member Abbas Zaki glorified the individual terrorists who chose to attack and murder Israelis with knives, saying they had “performed a miracle” causing Israelis to live under “curfew”:
“This people is greater than its leadership. The determination, willpower, and willingness to die for a dignified life are present among the youth who carried a knife after the disappearance of the Arab leadership, including the Palestinian. They performed a miracle by imposing a curfew within Israel with knives and rocks. Blessings to the mothers and fathers who gave birth to those who are marching on the path of light, without anyone having demanded it of them.”

Zaki also condemned peace promotion, saying that anyone who “talks about renewing the relations with Israel is not a Palestinian and not a member of Fatah!” Zaki gave this speech at the UNRWA Ramallah Women’s Training Center and Educational Science Faculty’s graduation ceremony held at the Palestinian Red Crescent headquarters in Ramallah. Palestinian Media Watch has documented that UNRWA and the Palestinian Red Crescent have hosted or made their facilities available for terror promoting events.
When the Danish Foreign Minister earlier this year explained the Danish government’s position that Abbas Zaki and the Fatah Movement are “moderate,” Palestinian Media Watch wrote a report documenting Fatah's and its leaders' endorsement and promotion of terror during the recent terror wave. The report was sent to Danish MPs and the Foreign Minister and subsequently debated in parliament.
The report includes other statements by Zaki as well as additional Fatah leaders, which clearly demonstrate Fatah’s support for the wave of terror, which saw several months of Palestinian violence and terror attacks against Israelis, including stabbings, shootings, car rammings, and throwing rocks and Molotov cocktails. During the terror wave, Palestinians murdered 34 people and injured almost 400.
In April this year, when the terror wave was somewhat fading with fewer and less lethal daily attacks, Zaki said Palestinians were on "the land of Ribat," thereby indicating that the conflict with Israel is an uncompromising religious conflict over what Palestinians claim is holy Islamic land, whose "liberation" and defense are said to be mandatory under Islamic law:
“Zaki... said that the Middle East region is on the edge of a volcano, and the others will fall, but we will not fall. Likewise, he noted: 'We are on the land of Ribat (religious conflict/war over land claimed to be Islamic) “Jerusalem and Jerusalem's environs,” and Allah chooses whom he loves, and is at the side of the faithful. We fear Allah, and we do not fear Israel or cowards.’"

[Zaki to the audience] I bless you sincerely with all my heart, in the name of the Fatah Central Committee and in the name of the leadership, which has decided - after giving everything for peace - to define the options against this Zionist enemy, and has ended the security coordination. Anyone who talks about renewing the relations with Israel is not a Palestinian and not a member of Fatah!”

Zaki praised the Central Hebron [Fatah] branch committee... and said that the Middle East region is on the edge of a volcano, and the others will fall, but we will not fall.
