Op-ed in religious section of PA daily for Ramadan: At the Al-Aqsa Mosque, Israelis “sow death and destruction… desecrate its holiness, kill, attack and spill pure blood”
Headline: “Al-Aqsa Mosque is calling to you”
Op-ed by Taleb Al-Silwadi, columnist for the official PA daily, in a special daily religion section for the month of Ramadan
“O, fasting public and the Quran, Palestine - mother of the cradle of civilizations, mother of the emissaries, center of the prophets, toward it was the first direction of prayer (i.e., Jerusalem) of the Muslims, from it the true Prophet (i.e., Islam’s Prophet Muhammad) ascended to Heaven, from it the resurrection of the dead will commence, on its pure land the true Prophet prayed at the head of the emissary prophets, and in it the Al-Aqsa Mosque is located. It merited great honor that was granted to it by the Master of the Universe, but when the occupiers sow death and destruction in it, desecrate its holiness, kill, attack and spill pure blood, we must stand by its side…
In the blessed month of Ramadan, in which you yearn to go to the mosques, let us visit the Al-Aqsa Mosque every day if we are able to, for the settlers in their plots want to expand their economic horizons by opening the gates of Jerusalem. However, we are people who support the economy of our [own] people and our homeland, and this is an opportunity for us to pray at the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque.”
