Fatah participates in event honoring terrorist Halabi by giving out plaques of honor to the terrorists` family
Headline: “Honoring the family of Martyr (Shahid) Muhannad Halabi at the Deheisheh refugee camp”
“The Deheisheh refugee camp’s institutions and factions honored the family of Martyr (Shahid) Muhannad Halabi (i.e., terrorist who stabbed 2 Israeli civilians to death) at the initiative of the Ibda’a [Cultural Center] in the camp, on the sidelines of the periodic culture competition between the expelled towns, in which 33 towns are taking part and which is being held daily. Martyr Muhannad Halabi’s family was represented by his parents, brothers, and sisters.
During the event, Wisam Al-Hasanat of ‘Ibda’a,’ who managed the ceremony, gave a speech in which he blessed the family of the Martyr who ascended [to Heaven] in occupied Jerusalem at the start of the Jerusalem Intifada that broke out last Oct. 1 [2015] (reference to wave of Palestinian terror attacks, 2015-2016, see below). He said that Martyr Muhannad, who was graduated by Al-Quds University in Abu Dis in its most recent class a few days ago, engraved his name on the list of the eternals, since he conducted famous acts of heroism in defense of Palestine, its holy sites, and its people’s honor. Therefore the honoring of the family was done to emphasize that our people follows its Martyrs, who sacrificed the most precious thing in their possession in order to defend the Arab nature of Palestine and its holy sites.

Likewise representatives of the Fatah Movement, the Popular Front [for the Liberation of Palestine], the Hamas movement, and the Popular Struggle Front honored the family of the Martyr and gave it plaques [of honor] during the ceremony, which was described by many attendees as an important event for expressing the appreciation of our people for the sacrifice of our Martyrs.”

Muhannad Halabi - 19-year-old Palestinian terrorist who killed 2 Israelis, Rabbi Nehemiah Lavi and Aharon Bennett, and injured Bennett’s wife, Adele, and their 2-year-old son in a stabbing attack in the Old City of Jerusalem on Oct. 3, 2015. Following the attack, he was shot and killed by Israeli security forces. Prior to his attack, in a post to his private Facebook page, the terrorist referred to recent terror attacks as part of a "third Intifada,” and said that it was a response to Israel’s actions at the Al-Aqsa Mosque and that the Palestinian people would not “succumb to humiliation.” This is a reference to the PA libel that Israel is plotting to take over and destroy the Al-Aqsa Mosque and to the PA's portrayal of Jews praying on the Temple Mount as "an invasion of the Al-Aqsa Mosque."
Palestinian terror wave (2015-2016) – Several months of Palestinian violence and terror attacks against Israelis, including stabbings, shootings, throwing rocks and Molotov cocktails, and car rammings. The wave was at its height from October 2015 through March 2016, but one man was killed in September 2015 and sporadic attacks continued after March 2016, including a bus bombing in Jerusalem on April 19, 2016. During the terror wave, Palestinian terrorists murdered 34 people (30 Israelis, 1 Palestinian, 2 Americans, and 1 foreign worker from Eritrea) and injured 400.
