PA Prime Minister meets with families of terrorists whose bodies are being held by Israel
Headline: “Hamdallah: We will not let Israel use the bodies of the Martyrs as a bargaining chip”
“[PA] Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah said: ‘We will not let Israel use the bodies of the Martyrs (Shahids) as a bargaining chip or to pressure the [PA] leadership, the government, and our people, over the activities to achieve our legal rights, to end the occupation, and to establish an independent Palestinian state in the 1967 borders.’
These statements were made during a reception held yesterday [July 28, 2016] at his office in Ramallah for relatives of the Martyrs whose bodies are being held by Israel, in the presence of Director of [PLO] Commission of Prisoners and Released Prisoners’ Affairs Issa Karake.”
The following is a list of the terrorists whose bodies were being held by Israel as a deterrent step as of July 19, 2016:
Thaer Abu Ghazaleh – a 19-year-old Israeli Arab who stabbed 5 Israelis with a screwdriver, including a female soldier, a 60-year-old woman, and a man and woman in their 40s, in Tel Aviv on Oct. 8, 2015. He was shot and killed by an Israeli soldier.
Baha Alyan and Bilal Ghanem – 22 and 23-year-old Palestinian terrorists who on Oct. 13, 2015, boarded a bus in Jerusalem's Armon Hanatziv neighborhood with a gun and a knife and attacked passengers, killing Israelis Haviv Haim (78) and Alon Govberg (51), and Richard Lakin (76), and wounding 3 Israelis. Alyan was shot and killed by an Israeli security guard at the scene and Ghanem, a Hamas terrorist who served time in Israeli prison in 2013-2014, was wounded. Ghanem is serving 3 life sentences and an additional 60 years for these murders.
Abd Al-Muhsin Hassouneh – 21-year-old Palestinian terrorist who carried out a car ramming attack at the Chords Bridge by the main entrance to Jerusalem on Dec. 14, 2015, wounding 14 people, including 15-month-old baby Yotam Sitboun who was seriously injured. During the attack, Hassouneh was shot and killed by an Israeli security forces member, and an armed Israeli civilian, and an ax was found in his car. After the attack, Hamas said that Hassouneh, who held Israeli residency status, was one of its members.
Muhammad Abu Khalaf – 20-year-old Palestinian terrorist who stabbed two Israeli border policemen from behind and wounded them at the Damascus Gate of the Old City of Jerusalem on Feb. 19, 2016. The border policemen defended themselves by shooting and killing Khalaf.
Abd Al-Malek Saleh Abu Kharroub and Muhammad Al-Kalouti – 19 and 21-year-old Palestinian terrorists who shot at a bus at the Ramot Junction in Jerusalem, and then shot at Israeli policemen near the Damascus Gate in the Old city of Jerusalem, injuring one Palestinian man, on March 9, 2016. The Israeli policemen shot and killed Kharroub and Al-Kalouti.
Abd Al-Hamid Abu Sorour – 19-year-old Hamas terrorist who on April 18, 2016, carried out a suicide bombing attack on bus no. 12 in the Talpiot neighborhood in southeast Jerusalem. 21 people were injured in the attack. Abu Sorour died of his injuries a few days later in an Israeli hospital.
Ansar Harasheh – Palestinian female terrorist who approached the Einav checkpoint northwest of Nablus on June 2, 2016, with a drawn knife in her hand. After Harasheh ignored the orders of Israeli soldiers to stop and continued approaching them with the drawn knife, the soldiers shot and killed her.
Majd Al-Khaddour – Palestinian female terrorist who conducted a car ramming attack outside of Kiryat Arba, near Hebron, on June 24, 2016. Al-Khaddour tried to ram her car into a hitchhiking station but hit another car, wounding the two Israelis inside. During the attack Al-Khaddour was shot and killed by Israeli soldiers.
Wael Abu Saleh – a 46-year-old Palestinian terrorist who stabbed and wounded two Israelis, a man in his 40s who has not been identified and 62-year-old Luba Gadimov, at the outdoor market in Netanya on June 30, 2016, before being shot and killed by an armed civilian. Abu Saleh, who had entered Israel illegally, was aided by an Israeli Arab accomplice from Jaffa, 30-year-old Muhammad Kabha, who drove him to Netanya and who was arrested after the attack.
Muhammad Taraireh – 17-year-old Palestinian terrorist, who stabbed and murdered 13-year-old American Israeli Hallel Yaffa Ariel, as she slept in her bed, in her home in Kiryat Arba near Hebron, on June 30, 2016. Taraireh also injured one of the Israeli security personnel before he was shot and killed.
