Official PA daily op-ed: Western aid money is an “obligation towards the Palestinian people from… the capitalist West that created the Israeli ethnic cleansing state”
The following is an excerpt of the op-ed by Omar Hilmi Al-Ghoul, a regular columnist for the official PA daily:
The Balfour Declaration of Nov. 2, 1917 was a letter from British Foreign Secretary Arthur Balfour to Baron Rothschild stating that “His Majesty's government views with favour the establishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people” and is seen as the basis for later international commitments to establish the State of Israel.
“The West is not dictating any sort of position to the Palestinian leadership in general, and [PA] President Mahmoud Abbas in particular. The [Western] aid money is not a favor from anyone; it is an obligation towards the Palestinian people from the entire world, and particularly the capitalist West that created the Israeli ethnic cleansing state and supported it. The revolution movement, Hamas, and its pawns have apparently not heard what was said in President Abbas’ speech at the recent Arab Summit in Nouakchott, [Mauritania], in which he called on the Arab brothers to help the Palestinian leadership sue Not-Great Britain for giving the ominous promise, the Balfour Promise (i.e., Declaration).”
