Fatah spokesman: Israel is attempting to "destroy the Al-Aqsa Mosque in order to establish the alleged Temple"
Headline: “Fatah: Israel plans to cancel Jordan’s sponsorship of Jerusalem”
“Fatah Spokesman in Jerusalem Raafat Alayan stated that the latest actions of the Israeli occupation at the Al-Aqsa mosque and the invasions of the settlers are part of the effort to destroy the Al-Aqsa Mosque in order to establish the alleged Temple, while taking advantage of the Arab and Islamic silence and the Palestinian internal rift (i.e., between Hamas and Fatah)...
Alayan emphasized: ‘There is no security coordination with the Israeli occupation forces in Gaza and the West Bank… the security coordination only occurs in a number of humanitarian cases in the holy city (i.e., Jerusalem), and not in the recognized security manner.’”
The PA and its leaders consider all of the Temple Mount an integral part of the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Therefore they view any presence of Jews on the mount as an "invasion." It should be noted that Jews who visit the Temple Mount only enter some sections of the open areas, and do not enter the Al-Aqsa Mosque or the Dome of the Rock.
