PA Minister of Culture warns: We must preserve Palestinian heritage "in order to prevent the occupation from making it Israeli"

“[PA] Minister of Culture Ehab Bessaiso said yesterday [Aug. 17, 2016] that the ministry is currently working to bring back the honor of the Palestinian cultural scene, and that it succeeded in doing so with the help of the leadership and [PA] Prime Minister [Rami Hamdallah].
This was during his participation in the Live with the Government program that is produced by the Palestine Live channel (i.e., official PA TV Live) in cooperation with the [official PA] Palestinian News and Information Agency WAFA…
He [Bessaiso] said: ‘The preservation of the heritage is the joint responsibility of the Ministry of Tourism and the Ministry of Culture, because the heritage is in the sights of the occupation… We are also in need of a diplomatic effort in order to internationalize the issue of preserving the heritage, and this is in order to prevent the occupation from making it Israeli.’”
