Child on PA TV: Ben-Gurion intended to “take over Al-Aqsa Mosque to establish the Third Temple”

Official PA TV reporter: “As part of its efforts to spread religious awareness and train preachers, the [PA] Ministry of Religious Affairs in Qalqilya organized the Young Preacher competition, meant to polish the intellectual skills of the children in the area of moderate religious discourse that is far from extremism.”
PA Minister of Religious Affairs Yusuf Ida’is: “We are always trying to raise the level and improve the preaching of Allah’s words, and the presentation of the message of tolerance and moderation.’

Competition participant: “Thus declared Ben-Gurion, the first Prime Minister of the occupation state, in his speech to the UN General Assembly: ‘Israel has no meaning without Jerusalem, and Jerusalem has no meaning without the Temple’ (sic., Ben-Gurion made a statement about the significance of Jerusalem to the Israeli Parliament.) This declaration means that Jerusalem has no significance without taking over the Al-Aqsa Mosque in order to establish the alleged Temple.”
In 1949 the UN debated how to implement its decision to establish Jerusalem as a separate international entity under the UN's rule. On Dec. 5, 1949, the eve of the final debate, and on Dec. 13 1949, after the UN had voted by a large majority to internationalize Jerusalem, Israeli Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion made statements to the Israeli Parliament about Jerusalem being an integral and inseparable part of Israel. He made no such statement about the significance of the Temple Mount or the Third Temple, but rather stated: “The State of Israel will guarantee freedom of religion and conscience, of language, education and culture. It will safeguard the Holy Places of all religions.”
