PA Grand Mufti: Jewish prayer in the Old City of Jerusalem is "blatant aggression against Muslims," Jews are attempting to "Judaize the Al-Aqsa Mosque
Headline: “The Mufti: The fact that the occupation’s courts allowed the settlers to pray in the Old City of Jerusalem constitutes a blatant attack against the Muslims”
“The [PA] Grand Mufti of Jerusalem and the Palestinian Territories Sheikh Muhammad Hussein described the decision of the Israeli occupation’s courts to allow the Jewish settlers to pray in the Old City of Jerusalem and in the area of the Al-Aqsa Mosque gates (apparently referring to a Jerusalem District Court decision on Sept. 13, 2016, allowing Jews to pray in the Muslim Quarter of the Old City of Jerusalem –Ed.) as blatant aggression against Muslims.
The Grand Mufti said yesterday [Sept. 30, 2016] in his Friday sermon at the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque that ‘None of our people obey the decisions published by official bodies of the occupation, or believe them…’
Likewise he called on the Palestinian people to unite around the Al-Aqsa Mosque and to come to it so that it will remain packed full of Muslims throughout the days and years, and in order to fend off the calls of the settler groups that are acting to Judaize the Al-Aqsa Mosque and Jerusalem.”
On Sept. 13, 2016, the Jerusalem District Court issued a decision allowing Jews to pray in the Muslim Quarter of the Old City of Jerusalem. This decision was issued as a result of an appeal by three girls who had been banned from entering the Muslim Quarter after police arrested them for praying there, and in light of the Israeli police’s recent policy of preventing Jews from praying in the Muslim Quarter.
