Fatah official: Balfour Declaration was “a project initiated by one who has no ownership for one who has no right"

Posted text: "The Balfour Promise (i.e., Declaration) was not a promise and word of honor, but rather a project initiated by one who has no ownership for one who has no right. And to those who do have the right to freedom and dignity, we promised to remain loyal to the path until [the achievement of] freedom."

The Balfour Declaration of Nov. 2, 1917 was a letter from British Foreign Secretary Arthur Balfour to Baron Rothschild stating that “His Majesty's government views with favour the establishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people” and is seen as the basis for later international commitments to establish the State of Israel.
