Headline: “Ida’is: The Palestinian woman is ‘the symbol of the Palestinian Ribat and resolve’”
“[PA] Minister of Religious Affairs Honorable Sheikh Yusuf Ida’is said that the important role of the Palestinian woman in the path of the national struggle and liberation constitutes the symbol of the Ribat (i.e., religious conflict/war over land claimed to be Islamic) and resolve in Palestine, and she is the defender of the holy sites, particularly the Al-Aqsa Mosque, next to her brother the Palestinian fighter. These statements were made during his (i.e., Ida’is’) participation in the evaluation meeting of a workshop on Health and Reproductive Rights, and Gender Equality, which was held by the Palestinian Initiative for the Promotion of Global Dialogue and Democracy Miftah for three days, together with 20 Imams, preachers, and social leaders in the Nablus District, as part of the Support for the Protection of Women project funded by the UN Population Fund, UNFPA.”
