Participants at Fatah event sign giant drawing of map of “Palestine,” erasing Israel
Headline: “Fatah in Tulkarem launched the campaign We Will Sign Off on Palestine Is for the Palestinians”
“The Tulkarem branch of the Fatah Movement yesterday [Nov. 6, 2016] launched the campaign We Will Sign Off on Palestine Is for the Palestinians, under the auspices of [Tulkarem] District Governor Issam Abu Bakr at the Palestine Technical University - Kadoorie campus, as part of the preparations for the 100th anniversary of the ominous Balfour Promise (i.e., Declaration).
Fatah Secretary [in Tulkarem] Muayyad Sha’aban, [Palestinian] Parliament member Siham Thabet, the university’s Dean of Student Affairs Hussein Shanak, and the coordinator of [Fatah’s] Shabiba [student] movement at the university Wasim Abu Shams participated in the campaign…
During the event, the attendees signed a drawing of the map of Palestine (see note below –Ed.), in order to emphasize that Palestine belongs to the Palestinians, and that is how it will remain despite the occupation…
Sha’aban noted that the blood of the Martyrs (Shahids), the tribulations of the wounded, the resolve of the prisoners, and the defense of our people’s historical leadership on the fundamental principles, are the guarantee for canceling this ominous promise (i.e., the Balfour Declaration), particularly with the approaching 100th anniversary of it being issued.”
The article includes a picture of the “map of Palestine” to which the attendees affixed their signatures. The map is the PA map of “Palestine” that presents all of Israel as “Palestine” together with the PA areas.
The Balfour Declaration of Nov. 2, 1917 was a letter from British Foreign Secretary Arthur Balfour to Baron Rothschild stating that “His Majesty's government views with favour the establishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people” and is seen as the basis for later international commitments to establish the State of Israel.
