PA government calls on Palestinians "in the Interior" (i.e., Israel) and "everyone who can" to "carry out Ribat at the Al-Aqsa Mosque and its plazas in order to respond to every attack against it"
Headline: "The [PA] government: Israel has chosen to perpetuate its settlement project and international society stands helpless"
"In its weekly meeting led by [PA Prime Minister] Rami Hamdallah that was held in Ramallah... the [PA] government expressed appreciation for the positions of our men and women that are praying and carrying out Ribat (i.e., religious conflict/war over land claimed to be Islamic), who are standing against the attacks of the Israeli occupation's gangs and thwarting their racist aggressive plans against the first direction of prayer (i.e., the Al-Aqsa Mosque). Likewise, it called on our people in the Interior (i.e., Palestinian term for Israel), and everyone who can, to come to Jerusalem to be there regularly and carry out Ribat at the Al-Aqsa Mosque and its plazas in order to respond to every attack against it."
The PA and its leaders consider all of the Temple Mount an integral part of the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Therefore they view any presence of Jews on the mount as an "attack." It should be noted that Jews who visit the Temple Mount only enter some sections of the open areas, and do not enter the Al-Aqsa Mosque or the Dome of the Rock.
