Abbas: Hamas's "absurd rockets" are "not resistance"
Mahmoud Abbas, PA Chairman, criticizing Hamas for not accepting the Egyptian-brokered ceasefire at press conference in Cairo:
"I'm not saying that Israel needs reasons, but we mustn't give it reasons and excuses. [Israel] makes use of what I have referred to – and which I continue to refer to – as the "absurd rockets." I have said this for many years. This is not a struggle. This is not resistance. They (Hamas) shoot a rocket, which falls in an open area – if it falls [there] at all, and doesn't come back to our [Palestinian] residents [in Gaza] and kill some of them. This rocket has been sufficient reason for Israel to kill, to massacre, to sow destruction and to carry out destructive actions."
