There are international balances of power that may impose a certain thing, and we understand this well. However, there is a famous saying that I always repeat, according to which even if the balances of power will come and force the entire Arab nation to sign a document of recognition of Israel and reconciliation with it, and will even force the small children, the young men, and the young women to sign it, a generation will come that will tear up the document and say that the recognition of Israel and the reconciliation with it are a sin that the Arab nation cannot accept. I am sure of this, as our generation was not educated to accept Israel.
And this is despite there being facts and balances of power in the world that we must take into account.
Signed: Martyr (Shahid) Salah Khalaf 'Abu Iyad'
Beirut, March 24, 1974"

Salah Khalaf (Abu Iyad) - One of the founders of Fatah and head of the terror organization Black September. Attacks he planned include the murder of 11 Israeli athletes at the Munich Olympics (Sept. 5, 1972) and the murder of two American diplomats in Sudan (March 1, 1973). It is commonly assumed that his assassin, a former Fatah bodyguard, was sent by the Abu Nidal Organization, a rival Palestinian faction.
