Fatah spokesman claims Jerusalem as the "eternal capital of the State of Palestine, and not as the capital of two states"
Headline: "Alayan: Kerry's speech is important, but its principles are not sources of authority for the resolution of the Palestinian issue"
"[Official Fatah Spokesman in Jerusalem and] Fatah Movement leadership member Raafat Alayan described the speech of American Secretary of State John Kerry (on Dec. 28, 2016, laying out US President Barack Obama's vision for a peace agreement between Israel and the Palestinians –Ed.) as an important speech, despite the comments he hid within it…
Alayan concluded and said that our Palestinian people and its political leadership are determined to end the Israeli occupation of all the Palestinian territories, and particularly of Jerusalem as the eternal capital of the State of Palestine, and not as the capital of two states as Kerry wishes. Likewise, he said that the issue of the refugees is not an issue for negotiation, but rather an issue of the right of return and self-determination, and the time has come for us to have a sovereign state and for the longest occupation in the world to end."
